The first question from a transporter who already has software is not “what can yours do”, it is “what about my accounting”. Short answer: it stays where it is. Here is the detail.
We keep no general ledger, no chart of accounts and no VAT/CIT filings. maTransports covers operations, invoicing, purchases and cash — the raw material of accounting, not the accounting itself.
In practice: you keep your accountant: they receive your PDF invoices and Excel reports and post their entries as before.
A dedicated connector will import clients, suppliers, open invoices, due dates and history, on the principle of our RECAP import: line-by-line preview, mapping correction, writing only after you approve.
In practice: the connector is not delivered yet. Meanwhile, the product's Excel/CSV import takes over trucks, trailers, drivers and past missions; clients are created by hand.
You prepare the orders in maTransports — suppliers to pay, salaries, instalments — and export a CSV file, with your bank's columns and separator, to upload into its portal.
In practice: no more typing account numbers into the bank portal, and no agreement to sign.
The module that pulls statements automatically is planned in the product. In Morocco access depends on each bank: there is no generalised open banking.
In practice: tell us which bank you work with and we set the connection up with them. Until then, importing a statement in the format we provide takes a minute.
The report centre (Analytics module) produces Excel workbooks — missions of the month, margin by client, overdue balances, fuel, CMR register… — and can e-mail them on a schedule. Payment orders come out as a CSV file; invoices, quotes and order forms as ready-to-send PDFs. The CMR stays the signed paper, archived as a scan.
In practice: your data stays yours, in formats any tool can read.
maTransports exposes an API and emits events — mission created, status changed, document signed — to your group's systems or to your customers'.
In practice: a client who wants to follow their shipments from their own tool can, without anyone copying anything.
The boundary is deliberate: it stops us selling you accounting you already have, and stops us promising tax filings we will not produce.
